JOBS Project, June 2004
This document was submitted to Cisco Learning Initiative in July 2005 as Bangladesh's contribution to a multi-country impact assessment exercise. The assessment comprised a month-long survey of Cisco Networking Academy Program (CNAP) students, graduates, instructors, and other community stakeholders to determine the effectiveness of the Program's gender initiative. The final report offers an analysis of the survey results, recommendations for further improvements, and success stories of women involved in CNAP in Bangladesh.
This study offers a literature review of ICT thinking in Bangladesh by recapping the issues and recommendations that have been made elsewhere and combining them with the experience of JOBS/IRIS in ICT sector development. The review is categorized according to e-Policy, e-Government, e-Commerce, and e-HRD, and concludes that efforts to develop the ICT sector in the country can be concentrated most effectively in the area of e-HRD.
